On 01st July 2024, Sainik School Gorakhpur embarked on new journey with the admission of Pioneer Batch in which 84 cadets of std VI and 84 cadets in std IX including 20 girls in each class. On the same day Orientation Programme for parents was conducted by Col Rajesh Raghav, Principal SS GKP. The Principal motivated the cadets with zeal and fervor. Parents were quite fascinated with the state-of-the-artinfrastructure of this prestigious institution.
The school witnessed a visit of ACS, Shri Deepak Kumar on 06 July 2024 to see about the preparedness of the school regarding Prez Visit to the school for opening ceremony. He was enroute escorted by the school authorities with the school premises.

The school plantation drive was meticulously conducted on 18 July 2024 aimed at to enhance greenery in school premises and promote environmental awareness about the importance of trees and plant in sustaining ecosystem and fostering a sense of responsibility towards our natural surroundings. Over 500 plants and native saplings of different species of flowers & fruits were rooted across various designated areas within the school arena. Cadets were divided into groups. Each group was supervised by two staff, ensuring proper planting techniques & also to promote scenic beauty to the school.

On 14-August-2024 Sainik School Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh held a memorable Investiture Ceremony, marking a significant occasion as the school welcomed new cadet leaders for the academic year 2024-25.
The ceremony commenced with a formal assembly in the school assembly area, where students, teachers and administrative staff gathered to witness this special event. The air was filled with anticipation as the new leaders prepared to assume their roles.
The highlight of the ceremony was the address by the esteemed Principal, Col. Rajesh Raghav. In his speech, he emphasized the values of leadership, responsibility and integrity. Col Rajesh Raghav said, “we are entrusting them with the responsibility to lead by example, to inspire their peers and to uphold the values that our school stands for.” Col. Rajesh Raghav also encouraged the new office-bearers to approach their roles with dedication and enthusiasm, reminding them that their leadership will play a crucial role in shaping the school’s future.
The new cadet leaders were formally inducted into their positions. Each leader received a pair of epaulettes symbolizing their new role, accompanied by a pledge to fulfil their duties with honour and diligence. The ceremony was marked by a sense of pride and responsibility as the cadets took their oaths, ready to embrace their roles as school captain, school vice-captain, adjutant and house captains.

On 15 August 2024, Sainik School Gorakhpur buzzed with excitement and patriotism as cadets and staff gathered to celebrate 78th Independence Day. The event was a lively tribute to our nation’s history, showcasing a deep sense of national pride. The day began with a spirited assembly in the Academic Block, where the flag was hoisted by Principal, Col Rajesh Raghav amidst cheers and applause. The national anthem resonated through the campus, setting a tone of reverence and unity. In his address, Col Rajesh Raghav highlighted the significance of the day, urging everyone to reflect on the values of freedom and unity.
The celebration continued with inspiring speeches from two cadets. Cadets displayed their artistic skills through patriotic themes in a Painting Competition. The creative works reflected the enthusiasm and talent of cadets.
The Independence Day event at Sainik School Gorakhpur was a meaningful and engaging celebration, reinforcing a strong sense of national pride and unity in diversity.
