Debate Competition on Artificial Intelligence- Boon or Bane at UP Sainik School Gorakhpur Highlights Cadet Excellence: Gorakhpur, 14th August, 2024 — The UP Sainik School Gorakhpur recently hosted a centered on the theme of Artificial Intelligence (AI) - Boon or Bane, held on 14th August, 2024. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Principal, Col Rajesh Raghav, and the Guest of Honour, Mrs Savita Raghav, who both commended the cadets for their impressive performances.
The competition provided a platform for cadets to explore and articulate their viewpoints on the transformative impacts of AI, engaging in lively debates both in favor of and against its integration into various sectors. Each house cadet speaker demonstrated exceptional skill and insight in their arguments.
In the “For category”, the best speaker position was won by the Cadet Sourish Katiyar, School No. 59 of Bismil House winner, who presented a compelling case for the benefits and advancements brought by AI. In the “Against category”, Cadet Anshika Agnihotri, School No. 5 was recognized as Best Speaker in Against for a strong argument addressing the challenges and ethical concerns associated with AI. The Overall Winner of the competition was Bismil House, who excelled in delivering a balanced and persuasive perspective on the topic.
The event concluded with both the Chief Guest ,Principal, Col Rajesh Raghav and Guest of Honour, Mrs Savita Raghav expressing their appreciation for the cadets' dedication and eloquence, highlighting the importance of informed discourse on emerging technologies.
