Between the ages of eleven and a half and seventeen a boy makes his debut as a cadet in this prestigious institution. They come from all walks of life, exuberant, brimming with vitality and with a burning desire to tread the chosen path of a warrior. They come as little boys and after six years leave as a potential cadet, destined to lead men beyond the call of duty. The metamorphosis from boys to men is aninteresting process interlinked by progressing, comprising training activities designed to aid the process of evolutionary leadership. The ultimate aim of training is to inculate leadership qualities to forge men of steel, capable of sound decision of under conditions of extreme stress.
They are also given the opportunity to display leadership qualities and develop team work. An important aspect of outdoor training is physical training designed to buildup stamina, endurance, and agility through a series of physical training programmes applied in a scientific manner. Endurance training, obstacle training and swimming are integral parts of physical training. Drill is the bedrock of discipline.
It inculates high standards of bearing and turnout is firmly rounded off with extra-curricular activities of indoor and outdoor clubs designed to develop his skill and aesthetic outlook.
The training imported at the school aims of inculating in the cadets discipline, loyality, devotion, selfconfidence and team spirit. Above all it makes him worthy to join National Defence Academy (NDA). The school attracts to its fold a young age child an attempt to impart the mental, moral and physical qualities to make his able to join NDA.

Drill
The key to discipline is drill. The standards of drill achieved at school are very high. The aim of drill is to inculate in the cadets a sense of pride in their uniform, smartness in gait and movement, military bearing and imlicit obedience to orders. A cadet must attain the basic standards in drill. Only then he is considered privileged to wear the house insignia with his uniform.
An inter house drill competition is held each year generating keen competition between the house. Indeed, winning the competition is a matter of great pride. The ultimate reflection of the standards achieved in drill during a year is reflected in parade on annual day function and in state level republic day to acquire first position among various school from all over U.P.
